Tomás Henríquez Murgas (Santiago, Chile. 1989) Actor, director, playwright, performer, teacher and researcher of visual cultures. Graduated in Theater Acting from the University of Chile, since 2007 he has participated in numerous independent stagings. He has written and published texts on different platforms of contemporary art and thought. He has awarded the Literary Creation Scholarship of the Book Fund in the Professional Playwrights category on three occasions (2009; 2013; 2014), and he has also participated the XV National Dramaturgy Exhibition in 2012, all awards granted by the National Council of Culture and the Arts (CNCA), in Chile. In November 2014 he premiered his work La mujer metralleta and at the same time published it in book format (Ed. Mago). As a performer, he has collaborated with the DEFORMES collective, the University Coordinator for sexual dissidence (CUDS), and the Nucleus of art, politics and community of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile. Recently, he was selected by The Royal Court Theater in London, the British Council and Teatro a Mil Foundation to write a commissioned play.
